Flood Damage Restoration

Flood Damage Restoration for Nashville Homeowners

Nashville sits along the Cumberland River and is surrounded by smaller tributaries and low-lying neighborhoods that have historically been vulnerable to flooding. Storms rolling in from the south, backed-up storm drains, and heavy spring rainfall can send water into homes across Donelson, Bellevue, Antioch, and nearly every other part of the city with very little warning.

CAMCO Construction & Restoration responds to flood emergencies across Nashville and the broader Middle Tennessee region. As a licensed, insured, and IICRC-certified contractor, we handle the full scope of recovery, from emergency water extraction to complete structural reconstruction. If your home has taken on water, our flood damage restoration team is available around the clock to help.

What’s Included in Our Nashville Flood Damage Restoration

When you call CAMCO after a flood, you get a complete mitigation and recovery service, not just someone with a wet vac. We bring industrial equipment, certified expertise, and a clear process designed to protect your home and support your insurance claim every step of the way.

Emergency Water Extraction and Containment

We arrive with truck-mounted extractors and submersible pumps capable of removing thousands of gallons of standing water quickly. Containment barriers are set where necessary to prevent water from spreading to unaffected areas. Speed matters here because water migrates fast through flooring, wall cavities, and insulation.

Structural Drying and Moisture Monitoring

After extraction, we deploy commercial-grade air movers and dehumidifiers throughout your home. Our technicians use thermal imaging and calibrated moisture meters to check walls, subfloors, and ceilings daily. Drying continues until every reading is within safe limits, which typically takes 3 to 7 days depending on the materials and the severity of the flood.

Antimicrobial Treatment and Mold Prevention

Once the structure is dry, we apply EPA-registered antimicrobial treatments to all affected surfaces to prevent mold colonization. Nashville’s humidity levels make mold a real risk after any flooding event, especially in crawl spaces and basement areas. This step is included in every flood restoration job we complete, not offered as an add-on.

Contact CAMCO to schedule an emergency assessment and get your home on the path to recovery today.

When You Need Flood Damage Restoration in Nashville

Nashville homeowners face flooding risks from several different sources throughout the year. Knowing when to call a professional restoration contractor can be the difference between a manageable repair and a gut renovation.

After Heavy Rain or Storm Drainage Backup

Low-lying neighborhoods near Whites Creek, Mill Creek, and the Cumberland River floodplain are especially prone to storm surges and drainage backups. When stormwater overwhelms the city’s system and enters your crawl space or lower level, professional extraction and drying is essential. Attempting to mop it up without professional drying equipment almost always leads to hidden moisture damage and mold growth weeks later.

Appliance Failures and Burst Pipes in Older Nashville Homes

Many homes in East Nashville, Sylvan Park, and 12 South were built in the early to mid-1900s and still have aging plumbing systems. A burst pipe or failed water heater in one of these homes can flood multiple rooms in a matter of hours. The combination of old plaster walls, hardwood floors, and dense insulation makes professional drying particularly important to avoid long-term structural damage.

Sewage or Groundwater Intrusion

Sewer backups and groundwater intrusion introduce Category 3 water, which is contaminated and poses a serious health risk. This type of flooding requires specialized containment, extraction, and disposal protocols that go well beyond standard drying. If your basement or crawl space has taken on dark or foul-smelling water, do not enter the space. Call a professional immediately.

Acting quickly after any type of flooding significantly reduces repair costs and the risk of secondary damage. Do not wait to see if things dry out on their own.

Our Flood Damage Restoration Process for Nashville Homes

Schedule Your Emergency Response Call

Call CAMCO any time and a live team member will take your information and dispatch a certified technician to your Nashville property. We serve Nashville as well as surrounding communities including Smyrna, Murfreesboro, LaVergne, and Mt. Juliet. Having your address and a description of the water source ready will help us prepare the right equipment before we arrive.

Assess the Scope of Water Damage

Our technician walks through your entire home to identify all affected areas using moisture meters, thermal imaging, and visual inspection. We document every affected surface and take photos that support your insurance claim. This thorough assessment shapes our drying plan and ensures nothing is missed.

Extract Water and Execute Structural Drying

We remove all standing water with industrial extraction equipment, then set up drying systems calibrated to the size and layout of your home. Our team returns daily to check moisture readings and adjust equipment placement as needed. We do not pull equipment until the structure is completely dry and documented as such.

Complete Repairs and Final Walkthrough

Once drying is confirmed, we move into the repair and reconstruction phase, replacing damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, and any structural components that were compromised. CAMCO also provides mold remediation, water damage restoration, storm damage restoration, and reconstruction services for homeowners who need a single contractor to handle everything. Before we close out your job, we walk the property with you to confirm every item on the scope of work has been completed to your satisfaction.

Camco and their PM Taylor have been amazing to work with. I am in a rental, through a large company. Often times the most unprofessional techs show up and explain very little. Taylor was kind and professional. There was clear communication every step of their scheduling process as well as work. Taylor even left my garage and the area of work cleaner than when work was started. Won't hesitate to use Camco for future project.

Taylor and Anthony with were absolutely wonderful to work with during a stressful water issue in my home. They communicated clearly every step of the way and always made sure I understood what was being done and why. They were quick to respond, personable, professional, and incredibly thorough throughout the entire process. What really stood out was how dedicated they were to making sure everything was completely taken care of. They came by daily for 3 days to check the progress and took extra care to test and ensure there was no moisture left behind. Their attention to detail and consistency gave me a lot of peace of mind. I truly appreciated their hard work, professionalism, and kindness, and would highly recommend them to anyone.

When the ice storm of 2026 happened in Nashville, it damaged one of apartments from bursting pipes and water. I was told to find a "water mitigation" company by my insurance company. I was so glad to find Camco, already on another job on my street. They took charge of everything for me and also dealt directly with my insurance company and also acted promptly with great communication between us. Their employees did a great job for us. I highly recommend their services! Thank you Camco Construction!

Water Damage in a condo from a neighboring unit is never easy. I called CamCo the very night the water from upstairs was running through our smoke alarm. We discovered it was in our linen and hallway closests, in our kitchen cabinets upper and lower. A MESS! CamCo came and put in the dehumidifiers and took thermal picutures immediately. FINEALLY after playing pingpong with the other owners insurance, Our insurance made the claim and we were approved for every thing from asbestos abatement thru demo and reconstruction. Ryan, who is no longer there, Daniel McCurty who picked up Ryans place, Clint Cauthon and his team including Manor and Able (and a host of others I dont know the names of) did an excellent job of putting our Condo at Versailles Townhomes back togethter! As a past HOA Board member I had recommended CamCo and thier team company OneTom Plumbing many times. To my knowledge every workorder was completed professionally and at a fair price. As a Homeowner that experienced this calamity personally I can recommend them completely. If you have read this far I will give you a bit more. My husband was hospitalized for a broken leg when the originating event occured. In January he had a Liver Transplant and was just getting ready to come home after 122 days in the hospital when the work was approved and began. CamCo was extremely sensitive about all of our needs and we were actually able to be here through the entire experience. CamCo went way more than the extra mile. I will forever be grateful to this great team!

From the initial call to CAMCO to the very end, the process went smoothly. Everyone was fantastic, and customer service was excellent. The 3 project managers were excellent and communications was timely and clear. As for the sub-contractors, they were the best and ensured that the end result was top notch and the mess was cleaned up as if they were never there. I would highly recommend CAMCO for you construction and restoration needs.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Flood damage restoration costs in Nashville typically range from $2,500 to $15,000 or more, depending on the extent of water intrusion and how much structural repair is needed. A minor basement flood may run $2,500 to $5,000, while severe flooding that affects multiple rooms and subfloor framing can exceed $10,000 to $15,000.

Most Nashville homeowners file an insurance claim to cover the majority of these costs. CAMCO works directly with insurance adjusters and provides thorough documentation to help maximize your claim.

The drying and mitigation phase of flood damage restoration in Nashville typically takes 3 to 7 days, depending on the moisture levels and materials affected. Older homes in areas like East Nashville or Germantown may have dense plaster walls or hardwood floors that take longer to dry thoroughly.

Full reconstruction work, such as replacing flooring, drywall, or cabinetry, can add another 1 to 4 weeks. CAMCO provides a timeline estimate after the initial assessment so you know exactly what to expect.

In Nashville, permits are generally not required for standard water extraction and drying work. However, if restoration involves structural repairs, electrical work, or significant reconstruction, permits must be pulled through the Metro Nashville Codes Administration.

CAMCO handles all permitting on your behalf for any reconstruction work, so you are never left navigating the permit process alone. We ensure all work meets current Metro Nashville building codes before final sign-off.

Standard homeowner’s insurance typically covers sudden and accidental water damage, such as a burst pipe or appliance overflow, but does not cover flooding from outside the home. For storm-related flooding in Nashville, you would need a separate flood insurance policy through the National Flood Insurance Program or a private insurer.

CAMCO works with both homeowner’s insurance and flood insurance claims, and we document everything thoroughly to support your adjuster and reduce out-of-pocket costs.
