Flood Damage Restoration

Flood Damage Restoration for Gallatin Homeowners

Gallatin sits along the banks of Old Hickory Lake and within the drainage basin of Bledsoe Creek and Station Camp Creek, which means flooding is a real and recurring risk for many local homeowners. When water enters your home from a storm surge, a creek overflow, or a backed-up sewer line, the damage compounds quickly.

CAMCO Construction & Restoration provides flood damage restoration for homes across Gallatin and Sumner County. Our IICRC-certified crew handles everything from emergency water extraction to full structural reconstruction, working as a single point of contact so you do not have to juggle multiple contractors during an already stressful situation.

What’s Included in Our Flood Damage Restoration Services

When you hire CAMCO for flood damage restoration in Gallatin, you get a complete response, not just a crew with shop vacs. Our process covers every phase from the first emergency call through final reconstruction and inspection.

Emergency Water Extraction and Containment

We arrive with truck-mounted extraction units capable of removing hundreds of gallons of standing water quickly. Our team also sets up containment barriers when needed to prevent contaminated water from spreading to unaffected areas. Acting fast in the first hours after flooding is critical to limiting structural damage and reducing the risk of mold.

Structural Drying with Commercial-Grade Equipment

After extraction, we place industrial air movers and commercial dehumidifiers throughout the affected areas and monitor moisture levels daily with calibrated meters. Drywall, subfloor, wall cavities, and crawlspaces all receive targeted drying attention. We do not pull equipment until every reading confirms the structure has reached safe moisture levels per IICRC S500 standards.

Reconstruction and Finish Work

Once drying is complete, CAMCO handles all necessary repairs including drywall replacement, flooring installation, cabinet work, and painting. We also offer full reconstruction services for homes that sustained major structural damage. The goal is to return your Gallatin home to its pre-loss condition or better.

Contact CAMCO today to get a free on-site assessment and find out exactly what your flood damage restoration project involves.

When Do You Need Flood Damage Restoration in Gallatin?

Not every wet floor is an obvious emergency, but water damage rarely stays contained on its own. Gallatin homeowners in low-lying neighborhoods, older homes near downtown, or properties with aging drainage systems should know the warning signs that a professional restoration crew is necessary.

Rising Water from Storms or Creek Overflow

Gallatin experiences significant rainfall events every year, and homes near Bledsoe Creek or in neighborhoods that drain toward Old Hickory Lake are especially vulnerable during heavy storms. When groundwater or creek water enters a home, it is classified as Category 3 water, which carries bacteria and contaminants that require professional decontamination, not just drying. Attempting to clean up this type of flooding without proper protective equipment and EPA-registered treatments puts your family at risk.

Backed-Up Sewers and Drain Overflows

Older sewer lines in established parts of Gallatin, particularly around the historic downtown and neighborhoods developed in the 1960s and 1970s, are prone to backup during heavy rain events. A backed-up floor drain or sewer ejector failure sends contaminated water into finished basements and lower levels quickly. This type of damage requires immediate extraction, full decontamination, and often complete replacement of flooring and lower drywall sections.

Appliance Failures and Burst Pipes During Cold Snaps

Tennessee winters occasionally drop hard enough to freeze exposed pipes in older Gallatin homes, especially those with inadequate crawlspace insulation. Water heater failures and washing machine supply line breaks are also common sources of significant interior flooding. Even clean water from these sources causes serious structural damage and mold risk if not extracted and dried within 24 to 48 hours.

Do not wait to see if the damage dries on its own. Calling CAMCO early almost always reduces the total cost and scope of restoration work.

Our Flood Damage Restoration Process for Gallatin Homes

Schedule Your Emergency Response Call

Call CAMCO any time, day or night, and our dispatch team will get a certified crew headed your way. We prioritize flood calls because every hour that water sits in your home increases the risk of mold growth and structural deterioration. Gallatin and all of Sumner County fall within our response area.

Assess the Full Extent of Water Damage

Our technicians use thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters to map every wet area, including hidden moisture inside wall cavities and under flooring. We photograph and document all damage in detail to support your insurance claim. Homes in flood-prone areas of Gallatin often have moisture that extends farther than it visually appears, and our equipment catches what the eye misses.

Extract, Dry, and Treat the Affected Areas

We remove standing water with truck-mounted extractors and set up drying equipment throughout the structure. Antimicrobial treatments are applied to all affected surfaces to inhibit mold growth during the drying process. We also coordinate with your insurance adjuster and provide all documentation needed for your claim. If contents cleaning or pack-out is needed, our team offers contents cleaning and restoration and contents pack-out services as part of a complete response.

Rebuild and Restore Your Home

After the structure passes final moisture testing, CAMCO begins reconstruction. We replace damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, trim, and any structural components that were compromised. We also handle mold remediation if growth is found during the restoration process. Our Gallatin clients work with one team from the first emergency call through the final walkthrough, which simplifies scheduling, billing, and communication throughout the project.

Camco and their PM Taylor have been amazing to work with. I am in a rental, through a large company. Often times the most unprofessional techs show up and explain very little. Taylor was kind and professional. There was clear communication every step of their scheduling process as well as work. Taylor even left my garage and the area of work cleaner than when work was started. Won't hesitate to use Camco for future project.

Taylor and Anthony with were absolutely wonderful to work with during a stressful water issue in my home. They communicated clearly every step of the way and always made sure I understood what was being done and why. They were quick to respond, personable, professional, and incredibly thorough throughout the entire process. What really stood out was how dedicated they were to making sure everything was completely taken care of. They came by daily for 3 days to check the progress and took extra care to test and ensure there was no moisture left behind. Their attention to detail and consistency gave me a lot of peace of mind. I truly appreciated their hard work, professionalism, and kindness, and would highly recommend them to anyone.

When the ice storm of 2026 happened in Nashville, it damaged one of apartments from bursting pipes and water. I was told to find a "water mitigation" company by my insurance company. I was so glad to find Camco, already on another job on my street. They took charge of everything for me and also dealt directly with my insurance company and also acted promptly with great communication between us. Their employees did a great job for us. I highly recommend their services! Thank you Camco Construction!

Water Damage in a condo from a neighboring unit is never easy. I called CamCo the very night the water from upstairs was running through our smoke alarm. We discovered it was in our linen and hallway closests, in our kitchen cabinets upper and lower. A MESS! CamCo came and put in the dehumidifiers and took thermal picutures immediately. FINEALLY after playing pingpong with the other owners insurance, Our insurance made the claim and we were approved for every thing from asbestos abatement thru demo and reconstruction. Ryan, who is no longer there, Daniel McCurty who picked up Ryans place, Clint Cauthon and his team including Manor and Able (and a host of others I dont know the names of) did an excellent job of putting our Condo at Versailles Townhomes back togethter! As a past HOA Board member I had recommended CamCo and thier team company OneTom Plumbing many times. To my knowledge every workorder was completed professionally and at a fair price. As a Homeowner that experienced this calamity personally I can recommend them completely. If you have read this far I will give you a bit more. My husband was hospitalized for a broken leg when the originating event occured. In January he had a Liver Transplant and was just getting ready to come home after 122 days in the hospital when the work was approved and began. CamCo was extremely sensitive about all of our needs and we were actually able to be here through the entire experience. CamCo went way more than the extra mile. I will forever be grateful to this great team!

From the initial call to CAMCO to the very end, the process went smoothly. Everyone was fantastic, and customer service was excellent. The 3 project managers were excellent and communications was timely and clear. As for the sub-contractors, they were the best and ensured that the end result was top notch and the mess was cleaned up as if they were never there. I would highly recommend CAMCO for you construction and restoration needs.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Flood damage restoration costs in Gallatin typically range from $2,500 to $15,000 depending on the size of the affected area, the water source, and how long the water sat before extraction began.

Cleanup from a minor appliance overflow may run $2,500 to $4,500, while a basement flooded by a major storm or backed-up sewer can exceed $10,000 once drying, mold prevention, and structural repairs are included.

CAMCO provides a detailed written estimate before any work begins, and our team works directly with your insurance adjuster to help maximize your claim coverage in Gallatin.

Most flood damage restoration projects in Gallatin take between 3 and 7 days for the drying and mitigation phase, though full reconstruction can add additional time depending on the extent of structural damage.

Water extraction and drying equipment is typically in place within hours of our arrival. Drywall replacement, flooring, and cosmetic repairs happen after moisture readings confirm the structure has dried to safe levels.

Homes near Bledsoe Creek or in low-lying neighborhoods along Station Camp Creek sometimes require extended drying time due to high ambient moisture. CAMCO monitors every job daily until it meets IICRC drying standards.

In Gallatin, permits are generally not required for water extraction and drying alone, but reconstruction work such as replacing structural framing, electrical systems, or HVAC components does typically require a permit from the City of Gallatin Building and Codes Department.

If your home sustained significant flood damage and requires structural repairs, CAMCO handles the permit application process on your behalf so nothing gets delayed or overlooked.

Homes in designated flood zones near Old Hickory Lake may also be subject to additional requirements from Sumner County, and we are familiar with those local regulations.

Standard homeowners insurance policies in Gallatin do not cover flooding caused by rising groundwater or overflowing bodies of water like Old Hickory Lake or Bledsoe Creek. That type of flood damage requires a separate National Flood Insurance Program policy or a private flood rider.

However, sudden and accidental water damage caused by burst pipes, appliance failures, or roof leaks is typically covered under a standard homeowners policy.

CAMCO works with both private insurers and NFIP adjusters, and we can help you document the damage thoroughly to support your claim regardless of which policy applies.
